Apparently fandom is being awesome again, and setting up an auction in aid of the flood relief effort in Pakistan. I've decided to offer an item for people to bid on: a podfic with cover art. Hopefully someone will bid on me!

And at some point when I get the energy up, I'll go check out the fic offerings and find something to bid for myself.

Wow! Fandom really is awesome at times! I knew that the help_haiti auctions had gone well, but...

They've already raised $76,000, and once all the sums pledged have been donated, help_haiti will have raised over $115,000!

And they're holding another auction and lightning round in February. Let's hope that goes well too!

I have won two of the three fics I bid on at the help_haiti auction! Also, by sheer coincidence the total amount I bid was £42, which number (as every good geek knows *g*) is the meaning of life, the universe and everything!

So yeah, I've donated £10 on behalf of tierfal 's fic, £20 for shiny_starlight 's story - both of those to the DEC Haiti appeal - and £12 to Oxfam for the ( Read more... )
